Need dedicated server with big hd and unmetered bw

Hi, I am starting a video website, and I need a dedicated server that is available to get as big as 1tb in space and bandwith needs to be unmetered at 20mbit at the least. I would like to use linux and having maybe 2mb of ram. However, in the first 3 months, I would only need around 200gb and 1500bw and that should be good enough until I grow and need to expand the hd and bw. I need a company that will let me upgrade and fullfills my need as fast as possible during my expansion of the site. Throw some offers at me, and I need one to be up and running by next week.

Hello,
What is your budget for the 200GB sapce and 1500GB transfer?
What processor would you like, and how much RAM would you need for the first 3 months?
Do you own the copyright to all the videos you will host?

Regards
Steven Billings

it is going to be my member's personal videos, and 2gb of rams in the first 3 months, and as far as processor, whatever will run the site smoothly and is easily upgraded to more hd space, I really have no idea, because I am having my website programmer programming the website. My budget is around $400usd and maybe 12000gb of transfer might be good enough too in the first 3 months.

You may not need the fastest processor for this, more than you will need RAM.

okay, my website will allow members to upload their own personal videos for others to view, so you're saying I should have a lot more ram and the processor woudln't need to be the best? if so how much ram would you recommend? and thanks for the tip

I would personally suggest maybe an AMD 64 3000+ or so w/ 2-4GB RAM and some heavy optimization and use of eAccelerator to cache PHP and improve overall performance.

Need Help to find a dedicated server!!!

Hi all,

I just found this nice forum and I would like to ask you if anyone got any good suggestions of where I can get a highcapacity dedicated server.

It may look a bit silly, but I would need at least 1Tb HD and about 2-3Tb Bandwidth a months. It would be used for storage large amount of legal data. I'm searching for about a 100 Mbit connection.

Appreciate any answers.
Mattias

If this is just backups then..www.bqbackup.com has a 1TB plan for $150/mo. Their price does represent quality, however, they may not be the very best but they should be good for your needs. And yes, they are on 100mbits.

Otherwise, you'd be looking to pay in excess of $1k/mo

BqBackup is great, as is gnax. Gnax costs more on large backup however. Please note that both of them use compression, and it's reasonably impossible to serve webpages using a backup site at decent speed.
