Solid Hosting Company

Hello,

I am in need of a very solid, reliable hosting company to move my various sites onto. My needs are as follows:

1- Absolute reliability. I'm looking for redundant networks, top of the line hardware, etc. This would be the place to impress me with all your fancy smancy hosting buzzwords. If you don't own your own hardware, please do not bother responding. If you have been in business less than two years, thanks anyhow. I don't mean to be rude, but that's what I need. If possible, you can impress me with how stable your company is as well.
2- High response rates. The faster my site comes up, the better. This would be a combination of the following: a) Very good network connection, and b) you are not hosting 48 billion websites on the server. If possible, please give me an idea of how many sites you put onto each server. Also, please tell me about your network center.
3- PHP5 (not just PHP4) / MySQL / CURL
4- Need to be able to host at least 20 domains - the more the merrier.
5- Need to be able the occasional cronjob.
6- Zend Optimizer would be nice (though not required)
7- I need maybe 1gig of HD space
8- At least 50gig transfer, though as always, more wouldn't hurt
9- Host must be in the US (100% of my customers are, so there you go).

One of my sites is fairly intensive, with on demand crawling. As such, I need a server where I can make good use of the cpu, and still have my pages return reasonably fast.

Price wise, I do not want some $3 host jobby. Anything under $20, and clearly you have to put a million sites on a machine to make money. I don't want discount, cheapo hosting (I just came from that). I would rather pay $20-$40 per month, and have a more reliable solution.

Hopefully I am not asking too much. If you think I need a VPS or a dedicated box, and you can convince me that this is the best root, and you can do it for under $60, I'm cool with that... though I would need CPanel or Plesk included as my apache scripting isn't what it used to be.

Any suggestions from the general crowd would be greatly appreciated as well.

Did you not read his post and notice that he needed 50GB Monthly Transfer? None of your posted plans meet that need. He asked for a custom plan, if you can do a custom plan, then post it.

You say you started in 1998, your whois information states:

I might be confused, and you might've started with a different domain - if so please clarify that for me.

On your contact page you list a President/CEO and a VP. Do you have a board to elect these people? If so then could you please provide details on that, else these are self appointed titles and are meaningless.

Also can you clarify whether or not you have PHP5?

Thank you for all your posts so far. Unfortunately, I feel a bit disenchanted by most of the offers. While the number of years your hosting company has been around is important... what I REALLY want is a rock solid hosting experience. I am hoping for some company to make me an offer as such: "Pay $40/mo, and we will provide you, not with unlimited disk space and transfers, not with 5 thousand ftp accounts and mailing list, but rather with such a reliable hosting experience that you will never have to worry that you site has been down for the last three hours." Primarily what I want is high quality redundant network connections, and to be hosted on a box with less than 4 billion other customers. As my original post mentions, one of my sites employs on-demand crawling, and as such, is demanding on the hardware it runs on. If I am running this on a budget hosting account, I end up with a very slow site.

It seems to me that almost all hosting companies are now in the business of super-discount hosting. More expensive plans offer you more disk space and more transfer per month... but that is not really what I am looking for. I want to pay more so I can have more reliability, and more access to CPU clicks. I want to pay more so I can be on a server with less customers.

Does such a thing exist? Am I alone in this desire?

Two things: you need PHP 5, not supported by most companies, although many companies are starting to introduce it.

Your website is intensive, at least it appears that way. Sounds like you need a VPS. For a quality VPS, be prepared to pay at least $45 and you will also need a system admin if you do not know how to do these things yourself.
