Web Hosting Request: PHP5, MySQL and more

I am thinking on looking for a new host. Main reason is that my current host seems to have problems with their PH5 setup.

I am currently with Surpass Hosting. honestly, I think they are a great hosting company. but, I am wanting to start coding with php5, and they don't completely have it. Currently, they have php4 and php5 setup. With php4, they do not run PHPSuexec and PHP runs as a module. PHP5 runs as a PHPSuexec under my username, and is compiled under CGI.

Only problem with that setup, from what they tell me, is that I am unable to change php settings whatsoever. (running php5 under PHPSuexec disables any changes by .htaccess. Normally, you would just create a php.ini file to change settings, but if you have php4 and php5 installed at the same time, then this is not possible, according to them). So I have to run php4, or php5 with its default settings. This also causes more problems because I am unable to even start a Session on page load because it tries to write to the /tmp folder, and because of php running under my username, it gives me permission errors.

anyways, looking for a host that offers php5 in its full "implementation" (would like PHPSuexec also, as it has its benefits that I would like to see used).

basically, ill list my requirements:

php5 (may or may not use PHPSuexec
MySQL 4.1++ (10+ Databases)
10-unlimited subdomains
5+ FTP Accounts
5g+ space

Would like SSH access, but not a big deal.

If anyone has any recommendations, that would be great.

But you need the PHP file to be .php5 or you can add something to your htaaccess file in your main directry that effects the whole site. Yes there is CPanel and the prices are cheap.

I looked at your hosting company and I am interested in the company. My question is how much more control did you get with the VPS? Do you have root access, or at least a way to work with you php.ini file other than .htaccess? I am looking for a host that gives me more control as well and I looked at the prices and at this point I could spring for the prices listed if I knew how much more control they offer. If you could be kind enough to let me know how it is working for you I would really appreciate it.
