There are few ways to generate revenue from parked domains
- If your domain name is taken from expired list of domains having good PR you may resell the domain name.
- Your domain name should resemble some popular domain name and people may come to your site by typing mistake.
- You can put google ads in your parked domain to earn revenue.
There are few hosting companies which will offer free domain parking

It does not worth to depreciate the domain name you have by parking it and allowing someone to display ads on it. You'd better develop a website and start producing content or doing business on this domain.
