I only only Allow files and folders with useful info about my site. Anything I want to keep private or is not useful to be indexed or searched is Disallow-ed.
uhm for example, if I have a folder of backup files, then I'll Disallow: /backups/ ... Last edited by bambam : January 29th, 2005 at 01:55 AM. |

Transending the ego centric, Grasshopper!
Thanks Bam Bam,
It didn't sound ego centric, at all, and you have to know that I really appreciate all the advice that you and the other posters have given. My website building instruction began with how to make a line, how to make a <br>, and the tag to insert an image, and at the time, I barely had enough vision to see my computer screen. The website has been a long long process, not to mention listening to my Mac read me all the research documents on the website content and website building. Almost two years in the making my website building skills have improved a great deal (I think) as has my vision. (Knock-on-wood.) Until the next time I get lost . . . Your getting on great.
One thing i would say is that all the pages have a column of text down each side with large spaces either side. You might want to look at using the table element more so you could for example have two colums. Apologies if you are already doing this. Have a look at Click Here for a simple table I hope it helps a bit. Cheers Adrian www.trowbridge-wiltshire.co.uk |

Thanks Adrian,
So far I haven't had much experience with tables except for the IQWeb page which was done in Dreamweaver - also a first experience. I can see what you're getting at, though and can see where breaking-up several of my pages would add a more professional look to it. I'll definitely get onto that as soon as I get the css pages fixed and formatted and the page listings up-to-date. Hmmm so much to do and it seems never ending. Thanks again and take care, Rebecca J FAITH IN HUMANITY ![]() |

Did it help to understand at all? Its only simple but u can see where u want to dump your side panel, header and main content. Its a good example to understand the basics. If you want any help then jus ask. I love reviewing sites and we dont seem to get enough of them. Web development as u say is never ending. All sites will never be finsihed, as its a rolling development. I think its a great idea what you are doing, as there seems to be a lack of useful sites on the subject.

Thanks for the encouragement, Adiwood!
Yes, what you have given is of great help and the simple table you posted makes the process a little more clear. I'll be getting on with the changes as quickly as possible. A SIDE NOTE: I guess you people just don't have the problem in the UK (with the animal sourced insulin), that so many of us are desperate to get hold of. For those of us lucky to be able to change insulin or to have survived the GE insulin, we import the beef insulin from Wales. This is a blessing but that pharmaceutical company in Wales has been bought out by a bio-technology company from India. Many of us are frantic with worry over the whole situation. Anyway, again, thanks for the encouragement! RebeccaJ FAITH IN HUMANITY |
