Smile www.addyourface.com

We've just launched a new site (currently in beta) and would like to know what everyone thinks (overall) about the concept, features and functionality.

http://www.addyourface.com/

Add Your Face is primarily a project trying to create a large mosaic of faces. On top of that, we have created some social networking features as well to help our users promote their other social network sites they have. There is a points/coins structure which allows the users to gain and spend coins and get to the top 100 faces for more exposure.

So let us know what you guys think.

Only thing I can think of is that on my monitors anyways, all of the faces are really small. For me to see them, I have to click on each individually. Maybe in addition tot he hover info you have for the faces, include a larger view of the face as well.

Very nice, I am glad I joined.

I really love the overall design, and navigation is easy.

Good job all around, keep it up.

I joined too. But not sure I'll use it much. It needs a killer ap to get people back over and over again. Or try marketing it in the paper.

hey,

looks good! Like the idea! If ou could make that a Facebook App then that would be a lot more used I guess!

Design wise! found the amount of advertisement a real distraction from the site! Made it very cluttered.

Personally I think you should change the colour of the JOIN NOW BUTTON and its background. It is bright but it doesnt really draw the eye to it!

Again Personally I would shift the layout around. Moving the Top 100 to the right column where the latest activity and Google adds are. Id move the main mosaic above the page fold... remember your customers/ users are there to see that so if its not on the main page straight away its a little pointless!

Nice idea though so well done!

Thanks for the feedback. We will consider your suggestions (we always do). I must say we have been a bit shocked with the response so far. In fact, this week, we were featured in WebUser magazine with 4/5 stars!

congrats! thats really good! just trying help make sure your site isnt just a gimmick and you can actually retain your user base!

The best peices of advise I was ever given about web design and developement was to look at the site design from the perspective of your User making it as intuitive and simple a possible. If they struggle finding things then they will be moe inclined not to use your site!

Congratulations. Thats exactly the kind of coverage you need. Dont let up now - keep pushing the marketing, on the back of the WebUser article, and you can get a snowball effect going with any luck.

Question

Very true edfollett. That is often the hardest thing to do. But we have tried our best to make things easy to do.

Thanks dominoman, I think the hardest part about a new site is getting the word out to everyone. Hopefully more and more people will plug our web address in forums, blogs, articles with our referral points system.

I think what some people have yet to realise is how much of a marketing trick add your face could be.

For blog owners, bebo/facebook/myspace users. Its a way for then to collect all their social networking/blogging information into one place.

For a company could have all their staff join and link back to their site. They could create a group to increase awareness and possibly collect more customers if they do it right.

We have loads of great ideas and want to hear more from others.

How about giving people on here a link from your homepage and in return we spread the word about the site in forums...
