I designed a new website Americanlawyers.org. for a client and it is ready to launch .. I appreciate webdesign experts to go through the website and express your constrctive remarks on overall design (Layout, Colors, Graphics, Menu, Header, Footer, etc) .. Your remarks/suggestions really helps me to improve my webdesign skills..

1. I'm on dialup and it takes FOREVER to load. Take a look at the Web Page Speed Report from WebSiteOptimization.com. 56K = 91.75 seconds. That's about 10 times too long.
2. The background image of the page looks strange. Instead of looking like a bunch of dots, it looks like a grid. It's hard to explain, but if that's what you are going for, it is inconsistent with the background of the main page. 3. I like the design of the "About" page better. Why not just use that design throughout? But on that page, you might want to declare a background color. I would go with a light gray. 4. You use tables for the layout. That is not what tables were designed to do. 5. You still use the font tag. If anything, this could easily be put in a CSS file without too much work. 6. It seems that your images don't have a useful alt description. This is key to make the site accessible to all users. 7. Finally, I would get rid of the "Design & Hosted by TechXP.com" image and use text that doesn't stand out very much. I just feel it is more professional that way. Sorry to be so negative, but I find it better to make suggestions on how to improve something rather than make comments on why something is good. |

The home page is basically one giant graphic. It is visually interesting but bad news in terms of download speed and SEO. Agree that the About Us page layout is better but the content information appears below the fold on my machine (admitedly I am on an iMac at the moment and the screen is small).

The main page feels out of place too. It has a home button on it, which will lead to that exact same page... hmmm.
Make the home section just another page below the menu when you click on anything but home. Will make it much clearer. I believe I gave the same advice about another page made by you. |
