you should keep the same template theme like your header to help separate your footer links.. also leave more room below the footer links.. they are so near the end of the page that they are hard to read...

When I click on a joke, the page seems to be centered around the google adverts. I found it difficult to actually see where the answer is. And I think there should be a way to navigate between jokes (forward/backward) when you're viewing a joke.

Well there is nothing I can fault about the design, but I agree with edwinbrains here because the answer is just a tiny proportion of the left hand side of the screen.

I would personally put the ads below the answer.
