CityPics.ws

Hello,

I recently put CityPics.ws back online and would really appreciate if anyone would share his thoughts and ideas with me, if (and if yes ) what could improved concerning the features and the visual design of the site.

Also, if you have any ideas on how to best promote it (without too much money, its a non-profit site) I would also like to hear it.

Thanks very much.

Site's looking good. A single pestering issue is that red text on "Register" and the red used in the picture in your header are slightly different shades.

Outside of that I can only suggest more attention be brought to your navigation.

G'luck.

Thanks for your comments Max. I didnt intend to establish a connection between the register link and the logo's color. Basically I just wanted to highlight the registration link. Would you consider it as important?

Concerning the navigation, what exactly do you mean?

Thanks again.

Hey,

I agree with MaxM about your navigation, you need more attention to be brought to it i.e. put a fancy background around it, make it bigger, change the colors.

Other than that good site, keep up the good work

Thank you Aphonik. The reason why the navigation bar is rather simple is that I wanted to keep the design clear and plain without too much fancy stuff. However I will take up on your suggestion and reconsider the navigation bar and trying to come up with something different. Thanks again.

If you decide to only use the right corner of the header for the logo then change the tables to fill the rest with text or something.

Something is missing, it needs more personality. I concur with the above posters.

Thanks for your comments Hajduk. Would you have any particular idea for the navigation and the logo area?

Move the logo to the right. Put the Login box in the same table where the logo is right now.

Make sure the forum has the same style/template.

Yes, I agree Hajduk, move the login box up inline with the logo. For the navigation bar you could put appropriate images next to the links. For example next to members a little picture of a head or something. You will be suprised how much difference it makes.

Just in case, use CSS to make the menu. Avoid Javascripts as much as you can since more and more people disable them.\

Have fun
