Client says there's a problem - I don't see it...
Please if you would look at this page -
www.gearsmagazine.com On the left hand side would you please click on "Advertising". Once on the advertising page please see if you can open the link on the right hand side titled "Rate Card". On the following page pleaes tell me if you can open and view the rate card that is in a pdf format? I would greatly appreciate your cooperation on this. There has been an ongoing discussion about this site and viewers abilities to both navigate to and access the various pdf files on the site. As I beileve the site is a very basic design that should not poise any problems to viewers, or at least the majority of the same. I was hoping I will get enough people in this forum to give me a sampling of if there is a problem or not. Thank you so very much. Tom Hall

Thank you, that is part of the issue I am trying to solve. Not sure why that comes up for some and not for others...any ideas? What os and browser are you using?

I can see it / download it.
I have to question the usage of the target attribute to the pdf file, but that is another issue altogether ![]() Viewed in Firefox 2x on Windows XP (1280*1024)

Hi Tom,
No problem here at all. Viewed in IE6, NN, FF, and Opera - Windows XP. I'll look again tomorrow from work on Windows 2000. Good luck, Carrie

In Windows 2000 IE6 the pdf file wouldn't display, my 'puter froze, had to ctrl alt delete, and one of my anti-virus programs popped up but said 0 item needed attention. I thought I probably had too many windows opened so I tried it again with only 2 or 3 windows opened and it worked fine on all the same browsers.

I downloaded and viewed this file with both IE 7 and FF on a Win XP Pro.

It worked fine for me.
I think any problems experienced are neither browser nor OS, probably ISP. |

It's good for me under Firefox 2x on OS X, opening the PDF in Preview.app. Can the client open the PDF with the direct URL? How about other PDFs?
