Comments Please

Hi,

Was hoping for some feedback on my site please.

Ignore the fact that its running as fast as snail smoking weed! my isp are having a few problems with their servers that will be sorted out within the next few days!! normally its faster!

If anyone thats good with search engine optimization could check my setup and offer some advice to achieve a better ranking.

thanks

Andy

The navigation on top of the page doesn't work with Opera. Not the onmouseover -effect, nor the drop down menus. The cursor style doesn't even change with Opera.
That is something you really should look into.

The design is clean, and nice, maybe a bit too plain. I'd like to see more colors used in the main area (where the actual content text is). Eg in the "services" you could have each other table row's background as a very light blue - of course this is a matter of taste whether you'd like it or not.

Very clean and functional, but it really is a little plain, for a commercial gig.

Maybe have some thumnails linked to examples on the homepage, this would help make it look more interesting.

The transition sample (Example section) you have there is nice, but having a lovee lady in there will be more appealing (I suppose) rather than the A to B default transition.

Can find on the cheap images on www.imagedj.com, more on www.corbis.com but more pricy.

Anyone know more sources of low cost images?

Cool start X-press Media, best o luck to your enterprise! may prosperity be withcha!

BamBam thanks for your comments i did do the transition example with video first but i found it be to distracting which is why i did the A to B thing but it did not occure to me to use two static photo i'l rn one of them up today and replace later let you know so you you can see what you think!

thanks

Kimppa

Again thanks for your comments, I must agree i thought it was a little plain but could not think what to do with it. i tried a couple of background images but could get get anything that i was happy with? allthough creating this website stuff is all new to me! i have been surfing for ages and ages and have come to dislike background images on a site.

but having just read what you said i think i understand. i will make this change today and let you know, c what you think sort of thing.

thanks all

Andy

Back again,

Kimppa, I did not think about other browsers! (like i said new)
i will have a look at this but i dont think my target audience will be opera users mostley IE6? i'l have to find one of those scripts things that run at the index.html and report back to me via email what browser's people are using i think i see something like that before???

I changed the services page in the way i think you meant? i also did the same thing on examples page? not sure about will wait on feedback and decide. i makes it alot more easier to read each colum though!

Bambam

you were right using pictures instead was alot better spent most of the morning setting that up and rendering but it is definetly alot better. i just used the same two photos throughout but it really show's each transition of better!

Myself i hate em! i like just a simple fade in and fade out! but it seems every customer with home movies to put on DVD love em!

thanks for all your commetns

Andy

I'd use even more lighter bg color... maybe something in style of #F3FCFC (maybe a bit darker one) and try what it looks like if you lose the surrounding black border.
I don't have anything better than windows paint on this computer, otherwise I'd given you an exact color

I don't think you should ignore Opera users (and other non-ie users) just because they are a minority. Remember, also they are potential customers. I suggest you work on the navigation a bit. There are plenty of free script out there that you can use. Just do some googling. Here's one that works with Opera:

Don't know whether you have changed anything recently, but I only see an Xjpg in NN7. When I opened that specific frame a page loaded (slowly).
Invalid HTML will kill many / most non IE browsers (well at least it won't probably work as expected).

Here's a tool that can check for problems in your HTML, HTML Tidy . HTML Tidy is bundled with HTML-Kit from Chami. Which is easier to use than stand alone HTML tidy (for me anyways).

checked your 'Photo Montage Stilll' link, the wedding pics r damn fine, they make me feel warm and fuzzy and teary *tear *sniff *sniff :

Seriously though, great choice of photos dude. Weddings (and that kind of druggy happy music) just make your heart melt doesn't it? ahhhHHHhhh ... its so sweet
