Arrow Complete re-design - www.pcmatrix.co.uk

Hi all,

I've completely changed the look of PC Matrix, and gone for a simpler cleaner look.

http://www.pcmatrix.co.uk

Also, if anybody knows where I could get some good dynamic content feeds, ie Latest hardware news/reviews etc I would be grateful.

Cheers,

Neil

It looks good nice and simple design, good colour scheme. However on my screen the main content is on the right, with the links on the left and so i have a large gap down the middle. I dont think its a good idea to say what the website is best viewed in etc right at the beginning of the page. People are more worried about the site then whats it best viewed in. Include this at the bottom.

Also u may want to look at using classes, which means that you wont have to keep repeating such things as. You could also use style sheets. Sorry of you are already in the process or are thinking about using these.

Looking good, keep up the good work.

Thanks for that.

Unfortunately my web skills are limited to Frontpage at the moment, but I wish yo improve them when I have time. I should be able to adjust the table widths for better display in very high res - I have a mixture of absolute and percentage sizes. I've had some good tips on more news feeds and will be adding them soon also.

Cheers,

Neil.

I can't really say much about the site. Its simple, but probabaly to simple. I mean simple does not equal bad, but it really doesn't have anything keeping me there. I can find what you have on your site in 100 other sites, but i go to your site because....

you have to answer that question. What makes people want to view YOUR site an not anyone elses. Does your site make people think or does it make them go "gotta get outa here fast."

I would also thinking about having the forum be taken out of that frame. Its to hard to read things when it is like that.

Your right, I do need to add a lot of content - but whatever subject you choose to base a site on, there's always going to be plenty of others on the same theme. Thats why I need a lot of dynamic content from external sources such as news feeds etc to at least have something contstantly updating the site as I don't have the time to commit at the moment.

The forum in a frame will be sorted soon - I'm not sure whether it's worth having one though.

Any content suggestions would be very welcome and I'll try and find some time to implement them.

Cheers,

Neil.

well I didnt mean it like "dont do a site because there are hundreds of others"

I meant, make your site better than those hundreds of others so people want to go to yours and not someone elses.
