Full marks for not using HTML tables. You'd better delete <!-- BAD SECTION: --> from the very top of your page. Sets some browsers into the dreaded quirks mode. The colour gradients look good on this iMac but I'll bet they look cheesy on a PC. Don't know why you have the domain name and IP address along the top of the page (?). Sideways drop menu works well - nice bit of coding.

as for your design, i'm not a fan of it tbh, but thats all a matter of opinion. I prefer the look of your blog, granted it's not quite as colourful, but it's much sharper and more modern. But i see that's by someone else.

I 100% agree with Three about your blog page looking better. Otherwise very solid work.

yeah, the html comment was in there for some debugging and I must have missed it when I went back over the site before posting it. the gradients look fine, at least on my pc's monitor...

i'm still working on perfecting the style - i'll admit it's a little bit drab right now but then again, it took me a lot less time to write than it did for the person who created the design i use for the blog (especially since that design does use tables... may eventually rewrite that one).

the ip address is a personal thing, both so that i can easily check the ip addy of a box i'm on and because clicking it displays various request headers, which i use sometimes when debugging stuff.

It's ok the web site layout.

I think the most interesting thing in your web site is the left-lower corner of with the lighting chooser... change the tones of the site is good stuff.

yeah, that was fun to code... php got rid of its own builtin gamma function, so I wrote one myself.

besides what everyone said already:

1) I would change the font face, IMO, doesn't fit the design...

2) The lighter, I would make it a bit lighter, specially in the captions and sidebar...
