HolidayEarnings.com
Ive been having a hard time choosing the layout and colors for the announcements part on the index page. Ive made it a bit less bright so its easier on the eyes. But it also looks more boring now.
What do you think of the (entire) site? http://www.holidayearnings.com |

Yeah, boring. Just screams SCAM to me, anyhow... You're using 10 different colors on the home page... you need to keep working on the "theme"...

Is that the "lemon-but-with-more-black" section? It pulls a lot of green from the border - and maybe it could use a little less green or black - would make it stand out better, but wouldn't have to be like a crazy yellow. I don't mind the pattern, but the theme (across the entire site) is pretty busy. You've got A LOT of colors in there - particularly in that help section... which is where people go if they're new. I don't know anything about PTR, so I clicked around a bit. As someone who doesn't know what it is I'm reading about, I would like to see a little more clarity in definition - either on the front page or on the "new to PTR" page. I would consider fewer background colors, perhaps either beter font colors for headers or at least more white with headers being the only thing blocked and colored - and more consistency in the colors. you don't necessarily need ONLY a couple colors, but something that transcends throughout the site would be better... there are tools out there to help people pick color schemes... Color Wheel Pro and Color Schemer are two that a friend of mine uses - but I don't think they're free... I also sometimes look at template websites for ideas about colors to go togehter and improve my display - but you always ahve to be careful not to do an exact duplicate....... |

There is more than 10 different colors, there is like 100. There should be probably at most 4 main colors, and then the Image colors.
Reds and Neutrals Blues and Neutrals Greens and Neutrals I see Greens, blues, and reds, choose one and stick with that color, and maybe you could add in different color here and there. |

I think it looks great and I really like the colors too! Nothing wrong with polychromatic IMHO. Reminds me more of a tertiary color scheme with tints and shades. The only thing I would lose is the very bright green background. Maybe if all colors were subtle people would appreciate them together more.
Really like the layout too! |

Thanks for the reply's
One thing is for sure i need to work on those colors. ![]() btw I've never heard of programs such as Color Wheel Pro and Color Schemer so ill check them out. Ill work on the newcomer page too and place a "new to ptr" link that links to it. |
