how's this look?

well, i've been working on a site for a little while now, and i'd really like to know what you all might have to say about it.
Specifically the menu, color scheme, background, and feel of the pages.

I'd appreciate it a lot.
Thanks

The layout is not bad - typical. Although the words 'indolent' sort of hides behind the center content. The width of the whole display is fairly small - even for 800x600.

I like the blue glass look you gave the headings, but don't like the way the tabs hides on you after clicking them. I noticed you are going to use the crumbs, but I always feel that visual is better.

The backgroud and the slanted lines conflict sort of to the point where my eyes tend to strain. Personly I never really liked the idea of putting patterns behind words. Either make it more opac or sold colors.

Glancing the code of the home page seem to be xml compliant. Not sure about css.

Cool

thank you for replying.

The word "indolent" is supposed to be clipped, i like it that way. I agree with you on the menu tabs hiding, it's just something i was playing around with, so as not to look "typical". The background, is crap. I'll give you that, but do you have any suguestions? I tried flat colored backgrounds, but they were too bland.

I originally wanted the background for the text to be at 67% opacity, but that apparently dosen't fly with the w3c.

Also, if you feel like it, the footer has a couple of links to test the validity of the XHTML & CSS.

My concern was that it may take some people to figure out what this says. I guess it will work as long as you choose the right fonts.

Yeah, that not easy to do these days with billions & billions of websites and designs out there.

The only suggestion I have at this time is to make the background behind the text just plain white.

Each web browser will display differently. It displays the same way in Netscape 7.1. It may be something with the <div>. I've have the same problem with my website. On IE it shows great, on netscape some of the columns are wider. Don't know too much about how to code for the other browsers.

Not that I want to contribute to Bill Gates but he does own 80% of the people. My website has been up for about 1.5 years and all the other browsers that have viewed my site makes up 2% of the total.
