you get a load of random characters. You need to define in your php code that your outputting an image. You need something like header("Content: image/png") at the top.

So, to get the actual header image, I did the following code:

Then saved the actual image and uploaded it as an attachment for others to be able to see.

What's random characters?
Do u mean that u cee some unwanted chars instead of actual image?
I've tested it on IE, Opera, NetScape and it was no problem with it.

Screenshot attached of what I get, with Firefox 0.9.

But yeah, I think it looks quite good. Perhaps it may be a bit too tall and take up too much room on a site, but I can't really say out of context.
