http://host332.ipowerweb.com/~mt-morri/
This is a nearly completed website for Mt Morris Camp & Conference Center.
http://host332.ipowerweb.com/~mt-morri/index.html Looking for general reviews on layout, ease of use... anything and everything. I haven't tested this in any browser besides IE so if there are display issues with Firefox/Navigator/etc I'd like to know what they are. Loading time is also important as the site should be accessible to those with modem connections. Thanks for your thoughts and comments. |

Loaded quite swiftly for me. Everything looks great as well.
Under Photo Gallery, and maybe elsewhere, you have blue links that look a bit out of place. They especially look akward when you have the green links to the left of them. If you don't want to use that green, I'd suggest another color you have throughout the site that doesn't clash with white, maybe the gold or a brown. G'luck. |

Looks exactly the same in Firefox as it does in IE. That's quite the achievement for not even testing Firefox, even though you are using tables for your layout
If you look around these boards you'll find several reasons to move to css instead of tables. But anyway, the layout looks excellent. You could think about moving the "Mt. Morris News" up against the nav bar, but that's all I've got. Good job.

it's always a good idea to validate you code with the w3c HTML validator

Thank you for all the great pointers. I'm going to take MaxM up on changing those link colors.
Cyber, thanks for the compliment. I started out in web design using layers and absolute positioning. When I switched to Dreamweaver I became comfortable using tables. Every day I learn something new... and I'm sure CSS will come in its time. Flashback, I did use the W3C validator (usually do.) I know they say every IMG attribute must have an alt tag, etc. and I sometimes ignore those common "errors." But I've never gotten so many weird errors when checking one of my sites. All the code is Dreamweaver generated, and nothing's really different from what I've been doing for the last year. Thanks for mentioning it though, as it really got me to thinking about the code. There's always room for improvement, right? So much to learn, so little time... ![]() |
