This is a site I'm making for my dad's dental office. I just wanted it to remain minimalistic while still having enough going on. If you could please critique pretty much everything you can think of, I'd appreciate it.

I think your site is to simple. It doesnt catch the eye. You can still have a minimalistic site with graphics and some nice text. You need to make it less bland if it is going to attract potential customers.

Have an example of a site that meets that? Take note that the content will be more graphics rich when I create the content. |

There is definatly something to a minimal style and I think you are headed in the right direction. The thing about minimal sites is you have to be extra careful to make the type, colors, and spacing perfect, because thats all there is. Right now I'd rework the text so it's not so wide. It's most comfortable for people to read lines of text that are between 7 and 12 words (if I remember correctly, don't quote me). Perhaps 2 collumns? Maybe work in some other elements besides just the text?
Also, you have a nice favicon, is that your logo? Use that in your layout. Play with the logo so people can identify with you. Right now you just have your name in there and its much more difficult to remember a name if there isn't some special way of presenting it. Keep at it, this definatly has potential. |

Just make this one change and the site will light up:
Take the Graphic against the light mint background replace it with a full color bannar. Maybe his name accross a set of teeth background? Here is some reference material to give you a visual perspective: http://www.extremepixels.com/phpBB/air/air_purchase_details.php http://devay.com/forum/index.php Of course if you surmised bulleted points in a column that was say 20-30% of your main content window, it would also help quite a bit. No reason you shouldn't do both.
