I want to support Mozilla/Firefox, Netscape 6+, Opera 7+, and IE 5+.
My graphical arts talent is somewhat lacking, I know. The page layout is fairly simple. I tried using the Suckerfish menu system, but due to the backgrounds on the lists there were bad glitches in IE6 and Opera. http://ra2faq.savagewar.co.uk/demos/grn_rounded.html I eagerly await your comments and suggestions. im impressed at the clean coding when viewing the page source... I didnt look at the js, so im not gonna comment on that.
the site overall is good. the header needs improved, but if its just a sample, i guess its fine and the background (body) needs a pattern or something... the white, especially on larger resolutions looks like a big hole... fill it up and youll be set. |

it's a little odd that the thickness of the green line around the main box is greater than around the menu box, i think it would look better if they were the same. Also around the selected links, the thickness changes on the ends.
PHP Code:
why have you done this may i ask? I'm not sure I like the colour tbh, although I've never been a huge fan of green ![]() to be fair, there isn't a great deal to comment upon.

The JavaScript is just a fix for NN4, which I should remove because NN4 doesn't support enough of the CSS I'm using.
I fixed the widths of the borders. I find the image toolbar annoying. Lots of websites use blue. I decided to go with green instead. What do you think of the new background on body? |

krav -
the coding is there -- really there. One thing - I would put the "content" <div> directly after the <body> tag - the closer the content is to the top the closer the eye of a search engine bot. Normally this is an issue on people's pages - but with yours its a simple cut and paste job. the design just doesn't feel professional though. The neon green feels both 'templatey' and as if it was laid out in quark. If you're gonna go rounded - I would apply the same acumen to the whole green area - it might make it look cleaner. Bar none - i would drop that shade of green in favor of a more subdued green. This would bump the contrast on the lettering too. also - I'd scrap the repeating background - there's prolly a cooler and more subtle design out there (or at your fingertips) that background is a bit overpowering. All in all - the page's design is a bit "in your face". It doesn't need to be - look into a nice deep green / blue combo - or throw in an orange if you're looking for a little more flair.

Yeah, I thought that background might be a little too overpowering. I tried making my own, but I couldn't make anything that I liked.
Graphic design is just not one of my strengths. You think search engines pay attention to elements' ID's? |

yeah
I'm pretty darn sure that google eats any H1/h2/h3 tag up as principal text. The closer text is to the <body> tag the better.
normally, you should folow up any text with the linking DIV and then last - the image and layout DIVs. I'm sure yahoo - having republished their algorithm time and time again - pays attention in a similar fashion. It's a dance, this SEO - a jig. -Taylor |

I updated it. I mostly just changed the colors and images.
