I did this site for my mom and would appreciate your feedback. It is intended to be simple and effecitvely enable her to share her recipes. She had 10 kids!

Thanks

The design isn't my cup of tea, but the overall browsing experience was good, no errors, nice backend coding, seems to be from a quick glace at the source XHTML & CSS compliant.

Good work on this one.

The green hurts my eyes. It isnt to my taste, but its clean.

When browsing recipes I had no need to scroll but the scrolbar appeared there anyway, I also think it could get quite annoying having to scroll it. My suggestion would be to stop scrolling and allow the recipe box to extend its height based on content. Then put a nice HR underneath it to separate it.

Also, i notice you heavily rely on inline styling. my advice would be to move it to a stylesheet. It makes no difference to output, but you as a developer will find it useful.

Apart from that lovely.

I liked it so much I bookmarked it. Very nice! I do agree with maybe getting rid of the scrolbar for the ingredients though.

I think you should try to make the main notebook graphic appear 3D, show the pages underneath the one you are on, give some drop shadow, etc.

About the scrolling ingrediants, unless you are going to have the notebook be one constant size, I dont see why you need it. I guess i would have ingrediants flow around the picture of the dish. Also, i would give a little margin between the picture and the ingrediants.

Mmmmm...beef strokin'off.

Did you make a admin page where she can upload her recipes, or are you doing that for her?

I like this site. You immediately know what the site is about.

A few things I would change:

The email icon is green, this needs to be cut out better
The print icon is outlined in white, this needs to be cut out better
The concept that this is a book is good but the shadow should run along the bottom too.
These words should be on the right "Family Home Cooking Recipe" with a space above and below it.
The site doesn't have anything on it that draws your eye to it. You look at the picture of Ann and there is no clue on what to do next.
