it was suggested to me to use CSS in place of tables... so i redesigned the home page with css layout... this is the only page that i have done... please let me know about load time, layout apperance, and such... thanks

Its kind of better than you original, it still takes ages to load, maybe because of you using images as backgrounds, to be honest I still use tabels for me site ( http://www.GuitarAd.co.uk ) and find no problem with them as other people do, apart from that it still has the twang of unprofessionalism, i think this may be due to poor graphic design? Get rid of the banner on the first page, not good makes it look like your using a free host and also give your pages titles!! Put this between your header tags on each page:
