Hello,

I already posted in the webhosting forum because that is what this site is about, but since it's a brand new site, I'd like to get some opinions, thoughts and suggestions from you guys. Let me know what you think about the site overall and what we're offering.

http://www.bandwidthhogs.com

thanks,

Chris

way to many images, slows down loading time considerably

although the site looks modern and rather fancy, the mark-up is old fashioned and rather heavy handed. tables are for displaying tabulated data and other such things, not laying out a site

a poor 56ker will be weeping at the sight of your rather ironic title as he waits over a minute for the site to download, people do still use dial-up connections it's usually considered polite to cater for them.

the one thing going for this site is the design, which is rather nice.

Three,

Thank you very much for the feedback, I do appreciate it. I am actually working on optimizing the images and site as we speak and I hope to have it down to around 5-8 seconds on dial up very soon. To tell you the truth I just launched it yesterday and probably should have waited until it was optimized to post, but you know how new site excitement gets.. . Any other comments are welcomed.

Chris

I can see the effort you made into this. I'm personally not offended by the over-use of images, although I do notice you don't use many alt attributes in your images, which would be helpful for search engine bots and those who do not have images enabled in their websites.

One big thing I would change is make some of that text contrast more with the background. Right now it looks way too faded.

Another thing I'd do is make the icons on the top a bit bigger and, again, use some alt text for those of us who want to know what they do before we click them.

Prov,

Thank you for the good suggestions! I've brightened up the text so that there is more contrast with the bg and I've added the appropriate alt tags to all image links

thanks again for taking the time to have a look

Chris
