A friend of mine told me that the site design is not positive. And dull...

Is he right? To get any other suggestions for improvments would be nice!

It's a pretty plain design, but I like it. Kill your friend.
I think the colour scheme works very nicely. You might want to consider adding some sort of CSS styling to the user login form elements, just so they fit in a little better.
I think the main issue would have to be 'validate your code' - I personally think the design's very nice.

this website is great. i don't think it needs any changes. The scheme is all great. I like the colors, setup, and it shows that you've worked pretty hard on this site. Keep up the good work.

I like the simply design but you could try to change the black to a different color.

I'm with everyone else. This is among the best designs I've seen.
You could make the navigation links stand out more, but that's all I can come up with. Keep it up!
