I've been in charge of designing this site for the past couple years...and it's time for another redesign. I've recently become more experienced with flash and would like to incorporate some of that in a new design.

My question to you is...

What would improve the functionality of the current site?

Most people who come here are first-time users and I want to make sure it's easy and straightforward to use.

Thanks!

Depends on how you define "functionality" I guess. IMO adding Flash would increase the eye-candy aspect but add nothing in terms of usability and be a hindrance to search engines. You have a great looking site - I like the design a lot. You could look at ditching the HTML tables and go with an XHTML/CSS based layout which would probably cut the amount of markup by 50% and streamline download times. One thing I would look at is adding text zoom capabilities for IE users - presently you have the font size set in pixels and it's on the small size for the body text.

thanks :)

That's actually on my list of things to learn. CSS is something I've been meaning to do some more reading on...seems a lot of people are designing that way now.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Yes, CSS came out in 1996 if I recall correctly so it's been around a while. No excuses - get researching! Have a look at these websites for some beautiful examples of what can be done...
