www.DoubleTrust.net
This is my first web project: a search project called DoubleTrust (name change from Rainbow !)
Its at: DoubleTrust The core ideas behind this site are explained on the About page (http://www.cs.northwestern.edu/~agu...nbow/about.html) and the Blog( http://rainbow-search.blogspot.com/ ). The premise: trusting two authorities might be better than one, and also compact but useful representation of results to greatly improve speed of searching and visual representation of search results. If you hover over the URL, the description is shown in a balloon, allowing me to present the results in a compact, fast form. I am looking for feedback. I would really appreciate advise, suggestions ! |

This is really cool. I like it.
The only I'm not fond of is the lack of visible info on each site. You have to run your mouse over each link to find out more. Like, with Google searches for example, all the info is right there. You don't need to run your mouse over anything. I like that.

Thanks.
Yes, there is a tradeoff here between showing the descriptions here and showing all the results in a compact form. The user interface model here is to allow the user to selectively see the descriptions for interesting sites, while seeing a lot of results at the same time. |
