Hey all,
been designing this website for a number of weeks now as its my first big project! I really just want peoples feedback on the current design, any suggextions, performance of the site etc. Theres a lot of deadlinks at the mo and only one page has the proper drop down menu i want to put on all the pages but please feel free to have a look and tell me what u think. personally im not happy with how the product listings are displayed as well as the 9 product pictures you initially see. http://www.follettmotors.com/eng/follettparts/parts.php cheers ed |

maybe you should go to the html forum or even the lounge, if you only are looking for help on design matters and not coding.

It's already been moved.
The nine mouseover images aren't too appealing. Greytone to magenta overcast ??? It would look better if you changed them to full color images onmouseover. You also need to fix the onmouseout on the first image in the second row. Aside from that, you need to play around with using different image formats. Without looking into it too much, it appears that you're using JPGs for the grey borders around the boxes on the right. I can see the compression lines common for non-photo JPGs that have been compressed enough of general use. GIFs or possibly PNGs would be a better solution here. They will be smaller and look much better. I think once you optimized your images, the site is fine. |

Hiya. If the: Login Functions Information Contact us Help are meant to be JS drop down menus, they don't work in Konqueror 3.1. Regards, |

I like the layout, there just a few minor things I'd think about changing, for what it's worth.
------------------------------------------------------- > The Folett Motors Logo - the "Independent" line is a tad blurry, the logo seems to be a bit crammed into the top, maybe lower it a bit if possible. > The drop-down menu's are nice, but maybe you could find a way to emphasize the "main" category more. I know they are separated, but maybe you could do something to make it larger or something. > The search categories don't fit into the containers they are in (Mozilla) > I agree with the feedback before mine, change the rolllover colors for sure. > I think it would look a bit more balanced if the bottom bar with the gradient was a little bit thinner. You may want to ax the gradient to make it match the nav bar at the top. ------------------------------------------------------- Those are minor points, overall you did a really nice job, it is a well-done layout. Nice graphics too. Good luck! |
