You'll definatly need some images. Spice up the menu with a simple roll over effect such as alternating colors or something to that extent.

Also make sure your header containing your sites header is significantly larger in height and width than your scrolling text box to prevent attention directed there vs properly at your header.

Yess I actually had images but I didn't like them, changed them etc and then I took them off.
