I just put this site up that I was playing around with a while ago to see how good the preloads worked etc..
But the tables display odd in firefox but ok in IE. http://www.geocities.com/greevus/antarctica/index.html Dirk Last edited by DirkPitt : July 19th, 2004 at 07:20 PM. |

Your </html> is followed by the comment:
<!-- text below generated by server. PLEASE REMOVE --> Which is followed, in turn by more HTML. What effect this might have on various browsers, I don't know, but the result is not legal HTML. Your HTML does not begin with a DOCTYPE declaration, which further leaves browsers to guess how to interpret the finer details of what your HTML means. You can read more about getting the DOCTYPE declaration right. |

what is it to review, its only a table with some links?
the reason that the tables look diffrent is that you use a proprietary attribute 'bordercolor', rather use css to define the borders. |

that page had a bit more content yes
![]() but the doctype isn't valid with out a uri to the dtd. http://www.w3.org/QA/2002/04/valid-dtd-list.html the layout is pretty good, the logo is maybe a bit large if you are concerned about download time. but good to see a layout that isn't using a fixed width. the colours fit well with the content. though i don't really see a point of putting some of the picture in with flash. and at last you really ought to use css rather than tables to make the layout, it isn't that hard ![]() Last edited by Akh : July 19th, 2004 at 08:02 PM. |

i think the left hand navigation bar is confusing...
there is no consistency to the links that appear there and the width changes on each page also your site map link, which can only be accessed via the home page, is broken. i also don't see why you need the links across the top as well as the bottom too...you may want to put the: Welcome Links Help Search Site Map ...across the bottom so that they can be easily accessed from any page instead of the redundant: Facts, Discovery, etc. just my $0.03
