http://www.lostcreation.com

http://www.lostcreation.com

Its a free educational tool for students. Its supposed to help users manage homework files. by giving them free filehosting and various online assignment types. They can organize everything based on 'groups'. These online assignment types are fully searchable, printable, editable... etc...

We also have forums, online messaging, and a research center (which essentially searches wikipedia and google) the only bennefit is if wikipedia doesnt show any results we use google to re search wikipedia with different spelling suggestions.

Its still under development but theres a whole lot of the site thats done. A signup is required, but you can bull**** the e-mail and fullname if you really dont trust me .

Things i know dont work:
the 'outline' assignment type.

Iv heard from our tiny userbase that there are some common internet explorer problems. I have already fully tested on safari/firefox/Ie 5.2 (im on a mac)

I know the HTML looks like crap on all my pages. Right now im more concerned with functionality and ease of use.

In my limited experience I've found that functionality and ease of use invariable follow along after good html.

usability:
- on your main menu, it would be much better to have the whole 'link box' act as a clickable link rather than just the text, it's a bit deceiving.

- it would also improve things to have the menu remain there all the time, rather than having it disappear when you click on a link, this would save the annoyance of having to go back to go forward again.

i'm afraid i don't have ie on here, but it seems to be working fine on firefox 1.0 (linux)

looking good

p.s. sorry for the randomly short post earlier, I didn't have time to post anymore then.

good for you! Now, on to the site. First off, let me say, it looks really useful. Being a student myself, I have registered an account. One problem: I wouldn't have registered if I hadn't read your post. Why not? I wouldn't've known what I was registering for. It says nothing about what the site is on the main page. You should add a few paragraphs of text describing your service.

Another thing: when you type an incorrect password, it should say something to that effect, not just return you to the page you were on. That is confusing.

Other than that, nice site. I like the design, especially the color scheme and the logo a lot.

Hope that helped!

nice looking site.. i was going to say exactly what maxintosh would say.

im using safari on osx. it looks great from here

the problem is that if yo udidnt tell me in the thread what the site is about, i would have had no idea. this would make a wanderer lose interest quickly.. noone wants to sign up for something that they have no idea what it goes to. there may be info in one of the links, but there needs to be a slogan or something that jumps out at you and tells you exactly why that person is at the site.

other than that, good job with the graphics

im curious.. when i see the "broken glass" kind of graphic (which is on a lot of artistic websites, by the way) what program... or... add-on to adobe does one need to make something like that?

Its not a photoshop thing. Its actually a 3d render.

Cinema 4d/Maya/3DS Max are all 'capable' of producing that kind of image. If you have access to any of those titles or really any 3d modeling app you should be able to find a crap load of tutorials.
