hiya, I've just ben asked to do a website for a driving instructor, in fact I'm subcontracting for a guy who's regular web designer has been flakey lately, so a good job here could lead to more work in future, I hope.
This is just an idea, it's pretty basic and only the home page is there just to get an idea. What do you thnk? http://www.magikwebs.co.uk/eric/ Thanks, John. |

it's not very exciting is it?
although it's nice to see css rollovers, they don't really add a huge deal to the site, and seem more like a gimic tbh. after your nice use of css for the rollovers, i was dismayed to see mr table creeping in when you came to structure the menu... i would suggest you use an unordered list. there's not much more i can find to say about this site ![]() |

I think you gotta think laterally when it comes to designing. It doesnt really feel like a driving school site. Its hard to review without much there. So i'll just leave it at that.

hmmm, thank for the feedback so far, you've given me something to chew over there.
It is quite plain I suppose now that you say it out loud. I guess coding alone is not enough, it needs some creativity in there as well, trouble is I struggle for ideas and don't want to rip off anyone elses. As for the table, I'm afraid it was that way in the tutorial I saw and said it needed to be for it to render correctly in Mozilla, maybe that's changed now, the site is http://www.webdevtips.com/webdevtip.../rollover.shtml If it's wrong I'll change it to an UL if I can figure out how. Cheers, John. |
