Hi,
Please look at http://www.mailhorde.com/ Could you comment on the WebSite Design and Hosting Part specifically. also, i added a game section to hopefully drive more traffic. Is that a good idea? Andrew Last edited by edwinbrains : August 9th, 2004 at 03:22 PM. |

for a commercial site, something that always puts me off is a google ad bar (the sites it's advertising are your competition, is that good for business?)
the images are rather unexciting, they don't really do anything for me tbh. are those games, 'free to distribute' games? Even if they are, i still don't think they're a great idea. They're not going to increase your traffic. there is a lot of blank space below your content. this would seem to be caused by your table based design and use of ssi. it's a good start, but i think there is a lot of polishing to be done yet. |

I agree.
The AdSense by Google is actually paying for the server right now. I break even that way. Also, though i offer hosting and web design, i also just have free scirpts which i made that are up there, may be i should differentiate the adsense to the non-business part of the website. The reason for all the space, wait a second, that reminds me, i fixed that. goto http://www.mailhorde.com/create.php every file is compiled and created on the fly, i think i may be able to fix that white space. |

You asked for a critique of your site only a few days ago here. I know you didn't get much of a response, but it was only a few days ago. I've closed that other thread.

True, would you rather i *POP*. These threads get little traffic and lots of posts, so what is your suggestion>? |

Well perhaps give it a little longer before reposting. It was only 4 days ago that the last post was made in the other thread. But, let's not turn this thread into a discussion on how often to repost. Let's give people a change to actually comment on your site now ![]() |

Hm. Generally its unappealing, to me as a designer at least. And as they are now, your two testimonials on the page aren't too convincing.
There is a webmail system named Horde by the way, not sure how that impacts anything. |

Maybe with 3 years in business you could post more testimonials? Have a whole page of em.
Have a pro designer give that page a once-over and you will be sittin better. |
