I have recently re-launched Olate with a brand new design and a revised backend/frontend. The design is very popular and the general view is that it is much better than the old one. I am pleased with it as it has more room to display information, looks nicer and is very flexible. The site is powered by PHP and the layout is fully XHTML/CSS based.
The site was setup to provide free tutorials and articles relating to web development/design and has recently merged with another site to provide free phpBB styles. In addition, I released yesterday a brand new version of a script I've been working on for a few months - LATEdownload v2!
Anyway, can I have any comments, opinions and suggestions to help try and improve the design - anything you think about the site, please post. If you have any ideas for expansion,please also let me know!

I see no background 
One comment I do have to make is that the site doesn't use valid XHTML code. You have got the XHTML-Strict doc-type in there but it failed to validate to it. I checked it using XHTML-Transitional and it failed under that too. If you are going to bother using XHTML at least make sure it validates
