ive started to try and give my site a face lift. here's the progress concept. let me know what you like and what you don't.

not much of a change from your current site color wise, try puting more vibrant colors in there and not so much grey grey is icky.......

The actual design is good, but (using firefox) sometimes the content seems to go over the borders, or onto images. And one page that I am on at the moment, the content box is alligned at the top, but it doesn't meet up properly at the bottom.

Your current design and concept both look great. I look forward to seeing where that gif steers you.

The only beef I have is with your concept. The note you have there is a bit unwelcoming to most visitors and should be reworded, in my opinion. You want your site to be overly friendly and incredibly welcoming, neither of which that supports.

It's good - but maybe it could look a little 'cleaner'. I think the curved line around the title might be too much, and maybe you could make the reflection a bit more subtle. And I think its a bit excessive having the words portfolio 3 times together. Maybe just once with a discreet shadow?

Other than that, I think it looks pretty good

add some orange in there and make the "shadow" portfolio text the same font as the rest.

I think I prefer what you have, or at the very least do not regard the concept as significant a leap forward to warrant your effort.

I think the main reason for feeling this way is that I don't think there is any pressing problems or issues with the aesthetics of the current site. I notive your main emphasis seems to be on improving the company logo banner and promoting your portfolio to more prominent positions. If this is something you feel will have a 'revenue increasing' impact then go ahead. If not then, are you just a little bored yourself and fancy a change?

The reason I ask that last question is that it's crucial. When building a brand, that stays the same day in day out, there is a tendancy to think it looks a bit rubbish and dated after a while. But remember how you felt when you designed it. You thought it looked great. That's how new customers continue to feel and existing ones feel confident that you're still the same dependable company. If you are going to invest time and effort in developing a brand then you need to remain true to it and resist the temptation to change your corporate image ever time you get a bit bored of it.

Just alittle update on my progress. The style of the site has changed drastically, and I think its for the better. My target consumer is for personal or small business, not corporate, so I feel that the new style is still appropriate and friendly.

BADMoJO isnt the point of having an online business to have an e-commerce looking site, i mean it just makes sense doesnt it? if you open up a business such as a restaurant you have to have a commercial building for it, so it just makes sense to do the same with an online company.
