Ok my mother and aunt wanted to start a ecommerce site.
So they bought this domain, and I threw together a few templates and showed them, well they wanted this one I had on the back shelf that was a 3 frames page.....
They also picked out flash buttons for the side/links..

So they HAD TO HAVE THAT ONE IT IS PERFECT!!!

What I need Critiqued is the site as a whole...

The color theme, lay out, etc. etc. etc.

Any suggestions to make it better, or what you would change and or add to the site....

Besides dump and go with a NO-FRAMES and no flash page, that already has been tried many times!! LOL

But ANY advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks all

The Site is HERE

Oh ya the top button in the side links takes you to their other site that sells their doll collection.....
All the other side button links stays within that site.....

Thanks again

Ok here is what I think.

1. Drop the frames,
2. Drop the pop up
3. Change the menau and turn it into CSS to optimize loading speed and to loose the cheap look
4. Smart resize the logo in the header to make the image look sharp as it should
5. If you choose to keep the frames make sure the page's width and tables are set correctly because they aren't and it looks messy in other browsers

Go with PHP and CSS. Use header and footers etc. You can achieve the same thing with that instead.

My 2 cents

Hey,

Get rid of the frames and either change the whole colour scheme or change the background colour. Purple and red doesnt go well on white. Other than that good site,

Aphonik

My 2 cents

1: Well they want the frames, I tried that already MANY TIMES.
2: Yes I was going to remove the popup.
3: The menu again I tried to get them to go with CSS, but again they like the buttons, they want the buttons....
4: Smart resize the logo, Can you elaborate a little more on how I can go about that???...
5: The tables are set at 100% so they should resize with the frame?? Can you elaborate a little more on that???

But again I wanted to go with a few Dreamweaver templates I have made up, but they won't have it.... They like the setup and the buttons, so I'm trying to work with what I have....
I should have never let them just go though all my templates, and should have showed then the ones that would work with a ecommerce setup......

Thank you both!!!!

Aphonik,
What color theme would you go with, again I have to use them buttons, I tried to get rid of them LONG ago, but they won't have it.....

I'm about ready to take my name off their site, beacuse I dont want anyone to know I made that crap.... LOL

There are a lot of issues with the coding.
This site can help you out a bit: http://www.netmechanic.com/toolbox/html-code.htm

Again, drop the frames. Tell them that it scares away people.

As for the smart size. Resizing a picture can be done on many ways. Pixels, percentage, per layer etc. Smart size calculaltes it for so it still looks good. Ask Yahoo,.

There I go thinking again.....

Thanks again for the help....
I wanted to loose the frames in the begining, but they wanted to keep them!!!
I will try again.....

I will have to look into "Smart size" of images.....
So it resizes the images acording to resolution setting of the browser????

Can you maybe point me in a starting direction????

Thanks

Oh ya let me ask you guys this......
What about iframes??? Is that the same as a frame????
A NO NO......

hey,
for starters, why do they want frames so badly? it can be set up without frames to look similar without any difficulty. take it from me, optimizing a framed site for SEO is a daunting task at best.

i would advise building your pages at a screen size of 640 x 480. This will work best with all sorts of monitor sizes and browsers (eliminates a lot of scrolling)
