http://www.samluc.com - Music Site!

Hi. I would much appreciate it if people took the time to have a quick look at my site - you can enter here: http://www.samluc.com/samples/collections.php - and then comment on its functionality/compatibility:
I've tested the site on a Windows platform; the following browsers - IE 6.0.2, NN 7.1, Opera 7 and Mozilla 1.6; and on the following players - Windows Media Player 9, RealOne Player 2 and Winamp 5.02. If anyone is not using any of these browsers, players or anyone is on a non-Windows platform (I'm just worried they might handle mp3 streams/downloads differently - hope I'm wrong though), and is having difficulty on the site, please let me know!
This aspect - i.e. compatibility/functionality - is the one I most concerned with at the moment. Having said that, comments on other aspects - e.g. design (it's very bare - I know), legal aspects, security are also welcome!
Thanks to anyone who takes the time!

P.S. I've disabled links to the order page until I'm sure everything is in order.

For the right-pointing arrows, the intention is to stream/play the file. For the downward-pointing arrows, the intention is to download the file. Black arrows are for lo-fi files; grey are for hi-fi. An explanatory pop-up 'title' box will actually appear when users place the mouse over the link. Unfortunately this is less clear in Opera than it is in other browsers, as the entire url address is shown as well as the 'title'. I might change this, to make it clearer.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look!

Both of them download the file for me.

I presume - considering that we're using the same browser - you are presented with a pop-up box giving the following choices: (i) Open; (ii) Save; (iii) Cancel; (iv) Help. For streaming/playing the file, you simply choose (i) Open (..if you choose save you won't actually save the mp3 - you will save the .m3u playlist file instead). For saving/downloading the file, you choose (ii) Save (..if you choose open you won't actually stream/play the file - instead you will open it into a temporary folder).
I hope this is the case. Please let me know if it isn't!

Thats true, I could choose open, but I think the effect your looking for is some kind of online player right?

I'm not sure what you mean by online player - Flash perhaps? - but, to be honest, I'm happy enough with people being able to play the files in their default player. So as long as the mp3s play for you when you choose open I'm happy enough (..for the moment anyway..).
Thanks!

I'm sure there is a way to embed the file so when clicked the file will play from the website. I'm not sure if that works from all browsers.

You're probably right. And I might look into at some stage. But, as I said, I'm happy enough with the other method for the moment.
BTW, which method are you not sure works from all browsers? My method or the embedding method?

Well I'm just thinking with IE you can probably embed a file and when clicked it starts windows media player where with Opera it just wants to download the file.

Ah, I think I get you. There might be advantages to the embedding method, but I'd prefer not to have to change at the moment. Anyway, it's way past bedtime in my part of the world, so you'll have to excuse me. Back in a few hours! Thanks very much for your feedback! Much appreciated.

Ok. I'm confident that functionality should be fine on most/all browsers etc., so I've opened the site up - i.e. I've enabled the links which were previously disabled.
Again, feedback welcome! I know the design is bare, but I plan to have the site evolve over time.
Thanks!
