Please review http://www.tausalaproductions.com. It is an informative site about a polynesian dance group.

It's purpose is to inform visitors about the group and try to get them to contact the group to sign them up for performances.

What I want reviewed is:

1. the look of the site
2. the navigation of the site
3. the performance of the site and state your connection speed
4. if the site obtains it's object above in giving ample info on the group and providing simple means of contacting the group (also, does it make you want to hire the group?)

Last, but not least, how much do you think I should charge the group for this work?

i like it alot! nice job

a few things though:
-navigation: good idea, but instead of having the links underline, maybe just change the color. that would make them blend into the background more and give them more of an image feel, rather than a text feel

-navigation: on the gallery link, unless you plan on having alot of dialup users viewing this site that are not on the internet very much, i'd get rid of that little popup warning.

-banner(?): the pictures of the people with links on them: great idea, but the execution was a little poor. first of all, they're hard to see from a glance, they dont stand out very well. second, when you do finally see them, a few just look like boxes floating over the image, and not part of the image, which is what they actually are. i would grunge the boxes up a little bit, like you did with the navigation of your site.

-General page content: I noticed that only the Classes and Gallery pages had a picture with the page title on it. the others just had a text image telling you where you were. i would make the page titles all consistant

ok, now onto your question about payment. generally this is discussed before hand about how much you plan on charging. also site designers almost always charge by the hour. I see on your site that you are a profesional web developer, so the payment should have already been considered. it all depends on how much you think you are worth, be it $20/hour or $100/hour.

I think funky G pretty much covered most of it, so i wont re-iterate. The load speed was a bit slow for me, but your site looks really good and thats hard to achieve if you are thinking of dialup users. So I wouldnt worry about the initial load up time.

I think the site is very effective. It makes me think these guys know what they are doing. I am not so sure I would hire them, but then again polynesian dancing is not really my thing. I am sure that if someone is looking for something of this ilk and they have to choose between this and some other group, they would be more likely to choose these people.

Charging is always difficult. Look at what others are charging, i cant be much help as i am in South Africa and things are a lot cheaper, if i could charge $100 per hour i could drink myself till next week for one hours work.

I'm on 56k and it was quite slow. Took about 20 - 25 seconds to load. Depending on your intended audience, this may be fine. However, I always find it best to keep us 56k users in mind.
