Changing the font size when someone hovers on a link is one of the most annoying things possible when you design a site. When you move the mouse it causes all of the text to move and makes things difficult to read. It should be avoided at all costs.

I cannot echo that heartily enough.... unless its like a side menu with each link in it's own space and not effecting anything around it, changing font sizes on hover is absolutely the worst thing you can do to a link, even worse than blinking it (in my opinion)....

I have seen some sites where they have set the hover colour to be the same as the background. Don't know why someone would do that but they did. Move your mouse over it and link disappears.

that's because the links exist only for decritive purposes, not for actual use.... kind of like soap shaped like fruit

agree with the above comments. when i come across a site with this style, i close it right away unless i _really_ need the content on the page.

maybe he just didn't set his css correctly?

I would say blinking and marquees are worse than that, though. Also animated gifs.
