Hi,

This is my first attempt at creating a pure html/css site, so would like some advice. It's still a work in progress, so the links don't work yet.

Comments on the aesthetics, layout, loading speed, basically everything, would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

it's a nice design, i remember when you asked for questions about the concept, and you seem to have pulled it off pretty well...

however, the loading time is pretty bad,
Speed Report

pretty obviously the number of images are your biggest problem here

when viewing on 800x600, I get a horizontal scrollbar, but i think with a little tweaking you could get rid of that.

there are quite a few errors in your html, i would go through it with a validator just clearing out all of the errors.

other than those minor points, the site is looking very good, in my mind, the layout and look are both superb and very professional.

Nice site, black text if difficult to read in logo though, and you have scroll bars at 800*600

hi all, thanks for the feedback

i've fixed the horizontal scrollbar problem in 800x600, should be fine now.

as for the html errors, are you referring to those <td> and <tr> errors? if so, i'm aware of them but i haven't cleaned them up yet because they're actually output from the calendar script, and i'm not too sure i can fix them without breaking the script

loading time problem, i'm aware of it too, and yes it's probably the images that're the culprits but i really don't know how to cut it down and still retain the design. any tips?

noted the point about the black text on the logo. will try and see if i can lighten the background a little.

anyway, thanks once again
