it's ok to have images as menu buttons, kix, no need to go ninja over it. poly, you might want to consider changing the image format for them - jpg is a good all-around format, but because the menu buttons only have a few colors, and only a few blocks of those colors, GIF would probably give you even better compression - right now your menu buttons are about 60k total, GIF could probably bring that down to no more than 30k, halving your page load time to for dialup users.
In fact, experimenting with various GIF settings on your Home button image, I was able to reduce it from 10415 bytes to 1997 bytes with just about zero loss of quality. |

Good site! Maybe navigation in the pictures section would help. Like "Previous" or "Next" buttons etc. |
