http://www.wowringtones.com/

Please get your shades and click on over to http://www.wowringtones.com/

It's bright but that's not an issue as it's one for teens

Not validated HTML but there shouldn't be anything too nasty in there.

Please let me know how you find it in terms of navigability, clarity of info and ease of use. It should be quick to load.

The ringtone database is MySQL, every page is PHP coded by hand on Simple Text with the images being done in Adobe Photo Deluxe, both on a Mac.

It uses style sheets for the fonts and tables for the layout.

There are three payment methods for the customers for which ones we echo out are dependent on the country the customer is in, Pay Pal's via IPN, premium rate phone line / ivr and reverse billed sms message. All payment mechanisms plug into a back end stats package and content admin system.

I've not viewed it on Windows yet so if there are any visible glitches please let me know.

Please share your thoughts on it good or bad. Thanks.

why not let all the 5 navigation section on the beginning. That is you start with 4 and then it becomes 5.

Maybe an onrollover, so the user knows to which section he's navigating

Well first off, I think your navigation has some issues that should be addressed a.s.a.p. - the main one in my opinion is your use of symbols that in no way are universally understood for the sections they represent. I have no clue what goes where until I roll over the image and wait for the alt tag. That is a major usability no-no. Also, the "back" button in your primary nav? I'd kill that too - it offers nothing really and since it works differently than the browser's back button it may confuse users. Let the browser take care of this.

Looks like the homepage is also your "Ringtones" page - I'd give it some header text like you did for "Contact" and "Info". A simple "Ringtones" or "Search for Ringtones" (or whatever is most accurate) at the top would be helpful. But this section does seem to work pretty well once you're in it.

Finally, I'd be careful that you are using approved images. I used to work at Sony Music and I can tell you from experience you don't want to get nailed for using images that you don't have permission to use.

anyhow, good luck w/the site.

Hi surfkook thanks for the feedback!

1) Navigational images now tell you to the right of them what they are on mouseover.

2) Back button gone.

3) Header put on main page "The home of polyphonic ringtones on the web" kinda apt as it does what it says on the tin.

4) Images. They are approved, I saw them and approved of them right away! They're just for navigation and not for sale. There are sites that have similar pics for sale as wallpapers and so on but I hear what you're saying.

Funny thing is some of our tones were made on the request of the record companies, The Delays and Goldfrapp (MTV web award winning site) to name two. We're also working with a couple of well known music producers to develop the back end for a digital downloads site.

Pleased you like the internal navigation.

I added Google Adsense to the site last night, not totally happy with the dimensions of the ads but will see what it brings as traffic starts to grow.

D-Flyer, it started as four then moved to five as there's point linking to the index page when on the index page. Unless I misunderstood you.

Thanks again for the feedback folks, appreciated.

Nice looking site. I like the scribbled look of the boxes. I think the navigation is fine.

The green is a little overwhelming, though you may be right that teens don't care, but I would tone it down a little bit for the rest of your users. Also, the transition between the yellow boxes and the green background shows a noticable difference in color(2 different shades of green). You can see the box outline in the green. It may be coming for the image compression. I would try to make it match if you can, so the transition is smoother. I would also consider using an image for the logo of "WOW Ringtones!" instead of making it HTML text.

Overall, I think the site looks good, though.
