Personally I'm not really sure what this site does. Are you asking people to cross their fingers at one another in person, so they can meet up on this service latter? I think an FAQ might really benefit your site.

I also noticed that when you search for an xmoment in the United States, it asks you to select a city, but it lists states.

We're working on the FAQ's.
As for the states, we now have 20.000 cities from the USA. Take a look if you're city is in it

Still pretty much have no clue what an "Xmoment" is. Site's kind of fun design and simple which I usually like, but in this case the message/content is too simple in my opinion.

Seems like you're trying to start a kind of underground community and way for people to meet by exchanging a sign that most people aren't familiar with. If that's the case, come out and say it - what do you want people to do??

Burying this info in an FAQ that still leaves questions in my opinion is not a good move.....

We kept it simple deliberately, to keep it clear and uncomplicated.

That's the whole idea!

Sorry, but What's the idea?

Put it this way, upon visiting your site my first question is what is the point - what does this site want me to do?

If that's the idea and that's what you want users to come away with then you're right on track.

Maybe we can make it even more simple, we're working on that, but what you said earlier is the idea of the site:

Indeed we want people to give each other the X-sign, if they want to see each other again. You could interpret the website as a dating-site, a reunite-site or for whatever you believe the site comes in hand.
We kind of hoped the text on the homepage was sufficient:

Xmoment, the new way to meet!
No telephonenumber or email needed
Just give the X-sign
Meet on this site
FAST & EASY

Maybe the homepage-text being sufficient is not the case, however, the greater part of our "test-visitors" understood it right away, notwithstanding, they could have been informed unnoticed by us...
Still, we do want ALL our visitors to get it after the first visit, so we're evaluating the homepage right now. We're also working on a flash-movie which shows an example of an Xmoment, and must clear all the unanswered questions that come to mind when visiting our website.
If you have any suggustions how we can make the website more transparent, please let us know.
