People still use AIM?

The site looks okay.

  • Maybe look into changing that red colour on the left menu, and thats used in the rollovers at the top?
  • The font sizes. Personally, i think the font size for general text is too big. Maybe make it smaller.. (To like the size used here? 10pt/12px).
  • Cellpadding. He is your friend. Try to add some padding to the navigation bar at the top, as well as the main content section. (To get the text away from the border a bit).
  • The colour where the clock is, it doesn't really suit the rest of the site.
  • Try to stick to some standards, such as XHTML/HTML compliance.. even if its only Transitional and not strict rules. It will make sure your page(s) render properly in all browsers.

Thats just a few suggestions I whipped together.

Chris

I'm not a web designer, but I did design a site of my own. I used to use word to design my web sites and I'm sorry to say I made a better web site using word than your web site.

To cheer you up, though... your header looks great. I wish I could create graphics that look that good.

Now, I shouldn't be a hypocrit so I'll offer some constructive criticism: do what Chris said.

The font size is definitely a problem. Some people can't see extremely small fonts, but that is a bit big.

Whitespace (actually blankspace)! Some people think whitespace is a bad thing but it isn't. Add some padding using the cellpadding attribute. It should be at the least 3 in the main content cell but probably more.

Navigation: the links should be in the center of the cells. Also, you may want to try a borderless table for it. Also, get rid of "::." It's like a cliché... it's over used by people and shouldn't be used. Also, the space between the header and navigation is probably unneeded. It isn't horrible so you can keep it if you really want.

The text colors under "Features Coming Soon" contrast too much. If you want that text in a different color compared to the rest of your content that is probably fine, but make all of that section have the same text color. OR... you may want to get rid of that section all together. As I've learned... don't using anything "coming soon." Most people don't care about "soon" but instead "now." My web site used to be "coming soon" but soon moved later and later and later. Now it's just "eventually."

Your web site has a lot of potential... but you have to translate the potential to kinetic

Do NOT change the graphics though. They are great
