layout ideas and suggestions

I'm working on doing a complete overhaul of an old site, basically updating it to my current interests and studies. Can someone look at the layout and give me ideas of what i can do with it to make it look better. I have a lot of information to add, so its not exactly at a standstill, however, i think the layout is a bit to plain. Thanks for any ideas and help given.

I would try one of two blog designs. There are the 3 column design and the side menu with the iframe design. Either would be good, just depends what you like.

Search in google for "blog templates"

I think you will be much happier with the design if the navigation was simplified. Using a blog design you can have tons of info or very little and it still look great.
