Arrow Linux Localization

Hi guys,

this is my first post in this forum.

I am currently working on a website to aid the Localization of Linux. The basic purpose of the site is to allow users to use it to suggest translation in "Telugu"(an Indian language) for equivalent English words that are used in various GNU/Linux applns.

I have not registered for a domain yet and rite now I have hosted it here

Linux Telugu

Requirements of the site
* Simple ( I had to strip sum of the graphics I put on the index page as it was not required)
* Easy to use
* High on Functionality required for this kinda work (translation and stuff)

This site also being my first, I wud really appreciate the advise.

Note: The site is only partially complete, so some of the links( like Comments, About us...) may not work as these do not affect the functionalty of the site. The site looks best on Mozilla/Firefox

the buttons look like they want something done to them. make themout of flash or a css image swap would be fine for those.

your links open in new pages, why?

i also realize that there are a lot of header advertisements simply because or where its hosted, but you may as well splurge and pay the $5 a month to get a site that will let you make sure that there isnt that gigantic whitespace on the top littered with google ads

Thanx 4 the suggestions....

Buttons. Well *Effects* is not the sites highest priority. (As I mentioned in my post, I had to strip down a lot of graphics I had initially put into it).
But will definitely do sum changes to it!

Links in new page. Can be changed, I have put them so becoz I dont *maintain* the target links, and so there are no links pointing back to my site. Ofcourse by the time the site is complete all these wud be taken care of.

No Ads. I kno its buggy, but I am only partially done with the site, there are a few more features to be added. Till then i thot i can host it using my free webspace. Basically I wanted to test it by putting it out there.

Can u guys give me the info on the time it took to load my site. Shud it be improved? Any suggestions for that?
(That was one of the reasons I had to remove some bulky jpegs off my page)
