need feedback on website comp

i hope that i'm asking this in the right forum? if not let me know.
i am a college student about to graduate in 2-3 months and i am working on a portfolio website and at the moment i am working on the porfolio shell for all of my projects to go into. i am creating different comps to see which one would be best. could anyone give me feedback about my comps and also which ones they like/dislike and why? also, what would you suggest that i do to make any of the designs better? does anyone have any suggestions?
thanks
the portfolio website comps are: http://stu.aii.edu/~msw031/imd490/index2.html

Personally I like #2 the best. Although on your logo at the top left the shadow's a bit dark.

To increase your design skill your best bet is to just browse the internet, see what others have done, and tweak yourself accordingly to successful sites you observe. In no way am I advocating stealing sites, but just see what others are doing with say, fades or usage of tools you wouldn't have thought of. Improve on others ideas by adding what you feel is improvable upon.

Good luck Mike.
