A lot cleaner and eyefriendly... easier to navigate. Its not too graphically intense/flashy but gets the point across...

hope that makes sense.

I liked everything about the site, except the rather unoriginal graphic of the source code on the homepage and it didn't look right on the lefthand side. Try it on the right of the block of text and see if that looks any better perhaps?

I'm guessing the menu doesn't look correctly in Firefox.

As for the picture on the left, it is really distracting. I am having problems trying to read the text through it. I'm not good with graphics, so I can't tell you what to do, but something really needs to be done.

The markup could also use some improvement. I see you don't use tables for layouts and that's a good thing, but you could optimize the menu markup could and probably should be done with an unordered list instead of a series of divs. Here is a very similar menu done in a more efficient way. http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/horizontal05.htm

Thanks all

Thanks everso much for the feedback, very helpful. I'll try and change the graphic and menu shouldn't be too hard. As for not using tables, i've tried to use divs but some pages haven't been converted yet. Its quite a big site to do a massive update like this.

I'm baffled by the lack of color - to be honest, I think I like the "old design" better. The grey on white for the entire site is brutal on the eyes, especially if you're trying to read those tutorials. Considering that the site's purpose is not obvious and requires some reading by the user, I would strongly suggest adding an accent color or some contrasting feature to make the text easier to read and also break up the design a little bit.

That said, I do like the tabbed menu and the content seems to be well organized.

The light grey text is harder to read than it needs to be and in the tutorials, consider making the preformatted code text colored like Dreamweaver does for editing, make things MUCH clearer.

Still like the site though. Keep working on it.

J.
