Are corporate logo's on website protected? If so I would take off the IE logo before you get into some deep sh*t.
Good luck with your efforts - even if it is worthless.

Because Internet Explorer is dangerous, buggy, standards resistant, user un-centric and out-dated. The site is about moving the web on. Quote:
I am in the process of writing a decent disclaimer. But trust me, I'd love a good 'Cease and Desist' letter from MS... |

Hi Stepheno,
Just noticed that it is not possible to download the alternatives from the pages under 'alternatives', but only from 'Swith from IE'. Maybe it's a good idea to link from the 'alternatives' pages to the 'Switch from IE' page. |

Thats a good point, i'll correct it within a few days. Quote:
? Are you a web developer who designs properly, have you ever been affected by viruses/adware/spyware through a browser, or have you ever been affected by Internet Explorer's accessibility issues? If so, I'll think you'll find that my site is for quite an important cause. But thanks for the fun and friendly 'too much spare time...' malarky, it's really helpful. You seem like a positive guy. Far be it from me to suggest that you have too much time on your hands if you write unhelpful and ignorant posts. Quote:
Actually I think my sites ok on SEO: semantic markup, good use of keywords, content orientated, getting many external links. And no, its not a small cause IMHO. Quote:
This is a real problem which affects millions of people. Quote:
Eh... thanks. EDIT: Saw your site Tony84. Maybe you should design using CSS, that is if you have any time on your hands. Your sites will be quicker to load, and more accessible. EDIT: Three, your site is real nice, good to see you made it valid xHTML. |

Well, the design is nice... buuuut, it ironically reminds me too much of Microsoft's design.
Especially in the fonts and header colors. |

Eh........Every font on your computer is a microsoft default font, unless you install more, I would have built the site in xhtml 1.1 so i could utilize xml capabilities and customizations, 3rd he does make good use of CSS (I hope its v3 since thats the version that will set standards for all browsers and interopablility) but he does make good use of it as I said, I always respect a designer who uses divisions instead of those nasty table designs which often get messed up in transition from IE to Mozilla Compliant browsers. He has a good cause but it seems to be not of real importance, we have firewall , virus scanners, and active virus tracking on our computers. I have never personally gotten spyware / adware or virusus from IE but I was never stupid enough to use it comming from a mac enviroment naturally I would use mozilla. Whoever said his site wasnt xhtml compliant was wrong, it seems to be more then compliant to me even though his content type is wrong for XHTML it should be
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="application/xhtml+xml; charset=utf-8" /> instead of <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> but other then that hes doing good, just needs to get more stats to the site. Email me and we can advertise your site on my new self teach php site! jordon.bedwell@php-helper.com I would love to advertise your cause on my site, it may be something for me to look into more, especially since it caught the eye of my dad when i showed him last week when he came over to visit, and hes pretty much no convincible so you got my props now!!! |

Last comment for me (I know thank god!) but if you stop IE or have IE become a great web browser wouldn't that cut out millions of jobs. Companies have employed millions of people in data security to help prevent these things.
The millions of people being affected our people who have no knowledge of computers/internet and click and download anything that pops up on there screen. I have been an user of IE for 7 years without downloading any virus/spyware. I also have been an user to firefox (mostly for developing) for the past year. |
