What's to say? Pardon me, but very American. Cool, but not so cool. The web is international and I appreciate your cards and your site, but I feel your site should be marketed solely towards the American netizen. I certainly mean no offence to your country, but I feel you do a grave injustice to those who have patriotism for their own respective countries. Again I mean no disrespect. If you create a site that is all American, you should designate it so. Otherwise, make it accesible to the rest of the viewers.

I respect Americans as much as any others, but if I am to grade a site on its merit to the "WORLD wide web" I should say the site should promote all nationalities. Otherwise it should be marketed as a "Nationality based" site. In which case I feel your site would be quite meaningful.

On the basis of your site in itself- I feel it is quite good. I have no real criticisms to make other than those I have stated. I certainly wish you the best - I am envious of your talents.

Hey,

I sell cards and most of my buyers are americans.
I put the festival or day which is important for my buyers on the main page.

So next time it will be fathers day.

Hi,

On rethinking, I think that what you are saying is right. I will rotate the memorial day with some other event so as not to alienate people of other countries than the USA.

Thanks a lot,
Nishant

Non-flash

I did not take too much of a look at it, but do all you pages support non-flash browsers?

But I did get a javascript error while selecting birthday from the drop down menu on the bottom of the main page? (internet explorer 6.0.2)

Are you sure?

The first thing to do is hire someone who knows html. This code is a freaking joke. It's a tribute to the browser programmers that your pages render at all.

On the "Chinese Wisdom" page I found four—count'em, four—pairs of <html></html> tags—nested, even; three pairs of <body></body> tags, again nested; and four <head></head> pairs.

There is a case of mis-nesting.

There is code outside the html tags. There is code outside both the head and body tag pairs.

The pages are totally dependent on javascript and/or flash for functionality. Search engines do not parse js or Flash.

The entry page is still all Flash.

Bye the bye,
Code:
 <option>Others</option>
 	  <option value="/70/shakespeare1.php3">&nbsp;&nbsp;Classic Literature </option>
 	  <option value="/70/pets1.php3">&nbsp;&nbsp;Pets</option>
 	  <option value="/70/classicpoetry1.php3">&nbsp;&nbsp;Classic Poetry</option>
can be done so;
Code:
 <optgroup label="Others">
 	  <option value="/70/shakespeare1.php3">&nbsp;&nbsp;Classic Literature </option>
 	  <option value="/70/pets1.php3">&nbsp;&nbsp;Pets</option>
 	  <option value="/70/classicpoetry1.php3">&nbsp;&nbsp;Classic Poetry</option>
        </optgroup>

The site looks good, but still has serious functionality issues.

cheers,

gary

Hi.. while not going right through the site.. which looks good, by the way.. I'm in UK, and would always use a UK based site.... Noticed that you seem to have the main headings on your drop down menu linked to non-existent pages.. "Birthday" returns a page not found error, "To Anyone" returns the correct page etc...

Ok
Brutally honest.......I'll try lol!
Ok i think that you are using Flash in a very very very inefective way.
If you are going to use flash then make it flashy!
IMHO flash is to be used for smooth moving navigation or eye poping effect or smooth curve animations

Your header can be duplicated in a static fasion and work exactly the same
Seems that you used flash to impress yourself and other designers other than thinking of functionality

other than that
I like the colors
very smooth and clean
Just revamp your flash header or get rid of them

think of it like this
You should only use flash
WHEN YOU HAVE TO!
or when a client has the deep pockets to pay for it and wants it done that way
and if you do use flash
Use it for what it is...a online interactive animation tool
Not a static webpage design tool

The whole site could have been done in php which would have meant website optimisation. You said you wanted website optimisation as your main aim, however you havnt done anything to even get near the top of the search engines. There is a lot of work to do. The design does look good though. Adi

Thanks for your comments. They really make a huge difference.

I am going one step at a time. So search engines optimization is on the backburner rightnow.
