Please Critique my sites....

Well I have just recently gotten into the business of creating Flash and HTML websites (I do design but had not started on websites really becuase I was relying on php-Nuke which was well..... just stupid)

I have done 2 sites, one in Flash, the other in HTML. This is due to the fact that I need my clients (i guess u could call them that) to be able to view a webpage with my designs (both do not yet have my designed up but will shortly) and I know some do not have broadband or their computer cannot handle flash, and some like the more interactive nature of flash as opposed to HTML.

ok

there is the HTML

and here is the flash

http://www.fnpsolutions.com/webtemp...1/newdesign.htm

k, i am awating your critiques.

fix the text coloring on the html sub pages. Can't read any of it. The font in the images is hard to read. Other than that nice.

I only looked at the HTML site.. i'm not much of a flash fan unless there's a reason for it (ie. homestarrunner sort of stuff)

anyway.. i remember the site you put up before.. at first appearance it looked nice and slick.. cool and clean, but the content was difficult to navigate through, as the navigation was confusing and the content was small, poorly worded and poorly placed.

i love seeing somebody that takes advice well and uses it.. this site is an incredible improvement over the other one in the areas that the other one had problems. the content is right there, and easy to to navigate to. it's not confusing. that's the most important thing.. as a visitor looking for information.. this site does not confuse me.

however.. as far as design and code.. things seem to have gone down hill a bit. the appearance looks rather sloppy, and the graphics seems slightly amateurish. the font choice is poor, due to the fact it is diffult to read.. particularly over the grey checkerboard pattern. also.. the title header logo thing.. it's beautiful, but the font is impossible. if i did not know it said 'fnpsolutions.com' before i saw it, i still wouldn't know after i looked at it either.

on some pages theres is a horizontal (side to side) scrollbar on the content box.. the text should wrap so that a horizontal scroll bar is not necessary.

in the content box.. there's some weird stuff going on with the right side of the lines.. a weird unevenness.

also.. this is BAD:

Code:
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="29" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="19" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="3" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="2" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="2" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="4" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="12" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="42" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="8" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="11" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="6" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="2" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="4" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="5" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="28" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="83" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="114" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="99" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="110" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="110" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="57" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>
      <td><img src="index/spacer.gif" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt=""></td>

there is some strange and unusual alignment on the navigation elements as well..

that was my looking at the site in Mozilla 1.7b.

HERE IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN LYNX:
Code:
TemplateGraphite.png

IFRAME: main

which is not too bad, because people who use Lynx or other nongraphical browsers get used to this sort of thing.. going to main i end up seeing your -- HOME -- and -- NEWS -- text.. but that's it. there is no access to any of the other links to anything else.

god, how weird is all that code. Thats dreamweaver for u. I would use dreamweaver at all in the final build. Makes the code longer which makes it longer to download. Dont use frames as i have to then scroll for the information both down and sideways. Not only that if i had a smaller screen i would have to scroll both my main scroll bar and the one u have added. The actual look is quite good. As others have said before the font may look good but its impossible to read.
Other than wat i and others have said, its getting there, jus needs a tidy up.

hello,

you have some really great graphics on this site!! both the html and the flash one. the only things i would say are for things that need to be read then use a more simple font and stick with it throughout. Also try not to use the blue on the grey for the links.

i see there is a little bit of tidying up to do ... like aligning some of the menu items and changing the window names etc but other than that they are great....good luck with them...they loaded quick but i am using broadband

alright well when i was doing the site and lookin at it through firefox, It looked ok, but than when i looked at it, through IE, It was ****ed up, I have not had time because of school, but i will soon change it. I am VERY VERY new 2 HTMl, and I use WYSIWYG programs like dreamweaver. Coding is not my forte as you can tell. I will try and work on the site, and I am very pleased witht he feedback because it gives me a chance to enhance my site and make it better for the poeple the NEED to see it perfect and pristine.

As long as its not a flame i take everything into consideration. Thank you again for your posts and I hope to see more posts from you in the future.
