Images:
It has a lot more 'mass appeal' now. ![]() Header/content/Footer Balance: Your footer practically starts from "Home :: Compare ...." right down to PHP logo. I did a visual measure of your image on a 17" 1024x768. Header = 1 inch Content = 6.5 inch Footer = 3 inch It seems that you footer takes as much room as half the main content. That is a lot. Header: Header size is good. It can be up to double of what you have subject to there being anything special like logos, header images etc but that should be the max. Content: Content size can be anything. Rule is that if it requires more that 4 scrolls, forget about it, unless it is an article and text based only. For best impact, and for sites that use their first page as an advertisement for the site, the whole page should fit into an average size monitor without any scrolling. The more scrolling, the less the impact since obviously what is not seen at the first glance won't make that much of an impact. ![]() Footer: It is my view that footer should almost always be smaller that headers. In cases of small headers, then footer can be the same size. Footers of larger than 1 inch would no longer be viewed as footer and become part of the content. However, they are normally too boring to be part of the content and would make the content look boring too. Footer at best should be around 0.5 to 0.75 inch. Copyright and associated info should be right at the bottom, usually with smallest font possible and do not have to have fancy background, borders etc. In your case, the images at the bottom are part of your main 'image' as a host and should be part of the content and not the footer. They do take a lot of space so consider, reducing their size, or position them vertically or in pairs or even for some fancy impact [with reservations as this would require more effort to get a balanced outlook] as background images. Initially, I would try to use a smaller version of those logos and lay them vertically at the right edge of the "ASharedHosting.com is an answer to ....". As with any design, you have to try different things to find the one that works best. Designing is an organic process. It grows and has to be allowed to grow and change until it finds its final form. Good luck ![]() PS. Please send all consultation fees with white pigeons only. ![]()
